lamping kit choices

I went lamping once with a chap with a Logun (I have a Deben mini). Frankly a candle would have been better than his excuse for a beam. 6V electrics didn't cut it on motorbikes and won't on a gun either. The logun is exactly the same as a lamp you'll find at Halfords for half the price of a gunshop (literally) if you must have one.

found the logun beam fine for 12ftlbs-40yds.

the switch however is bloody loud although there is a way to turn it on/off silently if you keep your finger on the button all the time, if you ever intend to use nv with an ir filter on the lamp then go for something more powerfull.

they are just a bike lamp with a longer cable and can be boughtr for less £

for an air rifle you cant go wrong with a clulite

for a rimmy a nightsearcher

for centre fire nightforce

all the rest in my opinion are ****, they might do for ratting around farm buildings etc

but for anything else forget it!!!!!!!!!!!:D

dont forget you need a lamp that will go futher than your intended range to spot your quarry so you can aproach it correctly taking in to cosidderation wind direction terrain etc etc................
