robgriff
Just a word of warning lads. Recently bought a shotgun off pukkadodgy. It was his 1st post and due to my inexperience got caught out. The condition of the gun was ok but I never checked the mechanics of it. Firing pin and safety jammed so a big repair bill on its way. Emailed him suggesting a part refund to cover the repair but he's now blocked my emails. Future buyers beware!!!!!!!!!! Ps I don't have many posts myself because I'm new to the forum but have been on the AGBBS under the name of Ranger for a fair bit so should have known better. dazza
pukkadodgy - the name sort of gives it away
Cranfield
pukkadodgy joined on 12th March 2008 and made one post, which was the For Sale post. This is an extract from the Terms and Conditions of using this section, which are fixed at the top of the section. "General Advice: Use extra caution when entering into a deal with a member that has: [*] no post count [*] no established reputation here [*] never sold to anyone in our forum before [*] recently registered on the forum " It may be that pukkadodgy felt that the price he was selling the gun at reflected its condition and also he may not have been fully aware of any issues. Remember, there are two sides to every story.
robgriff
Yeh point taken. The guy claimed that the gun was working last time he used it, but obviously in this state it wasn't. Then blocked me sending to his email address! Like I said I should have known better. Had it been an air rifle I would have known what to look for and examine. I'll just put it down to experience. Just thought to warn others not to make the same mistake as me. Rob
wildoliver
To be honest i was in half a mind to buy that myself. And I would have done even if I had known of the problem. If your really unhappy with it then I have a pump action which I 100% guarantee will give you no issues. And would throw some cash in to the equation too. robgriff
I'm not so much unhappy with the gun as the seller. The gun has gone in for repair, the price was ok(excepting the additional repair costs!). Its just after suggesting to the seller that a small refund to cover the repair costs might be in order, he disabled his email address!!! wildoliver
Whilst the guy is obviously bent and it was a dirty trick, as long as your repair bill is no more than about £50 you didn't get a bad deal. However that's not the point.
