sbald
I am thinking of buying a Semi Auto for use on the marshes and the odd day rough shooting, My local dealer has the Escort 3.5" magnum for £265 new I think this is a very good price and was wondering if anyone can advise if this gun is any good. I know its not going to be as good as a Berretta, but then I dont want to spend a lot on A gun for the marsh.

polski
I've got the 3 1/2 inch escort,if used with anything below 32 grams it will fail to cycle occasionally. 32 and above no problems. £265 is a very good price, I paid £315 for mine 2 years ago. Birdboy
I researched an Escort for a mate who picked it up 2 weeks ago for £270. Great reveiws everywhere and the local gun shop said they have only ever had ONE back with a minor defect, and Hatsan replaced it immediately, no fuss, rather than fix it. However, it was bought mainly for rough shooting, but we went clay shooting last Saturday, and it jammed probably 8 times with a mixture of 7's and 8's, so be careful in the lighter loads. tomtom
My mate got one a while ago and I have shot it a number of times, It is OK but it seems to chew up O-rings which seems to make it misfire like nobody business. I don't know if he got a duff one, the gun shop say that they haven't had any reporting similar and put it down to using to much grease. Having rectified that it was somewhat better but is still liable to munch the O-ring and stop working if it gets wet. It seems like an OK gun for the money but I think I would save a little and get something of a slightly better quality. Just my 2p
Supersonic
Had mine for a while, never missed a beat, 200+ 28g No 6. You don't get stressed dragging it through brambles etc
steve b
I bought one a couple of months ago and when I fired the first shot both the other cartridges were ejected causing a jam. Took it back and got a replacement and had exactly the same problem. Lost faith and now have a 300 credit note which I will put towards a .308 rifle. I think my experience is rare as I have heard very good things (also the warranty is excellent with the suppliers repairing or replacing parts no quibble - edgar bros I think). I think I got two from a bad batch (serial nos were only 2 away from each other) Hope this helps steve
SirMorris
Steve, Do you still have the serial naumbers for those two shotguns? I am considering buying one myself and I 'd wish to avoid that batch!! Cheers
