Fitting Sling Studs

Can anyone post a pic/describe how they fitted sling studs to the front of their BSA Lightning? (non XL) wooden stock.

The fore end seems very short once you move back beyond the relief channel for the spring lever and I can't see a way to do it without having the front stud practically in front of the trigger housing.

Any advice?

Thanks.

i made a bit of a balls with mine. the rear stud snapped half way in, so i put the second one in, and then put some elec tape around the near end of barrel, then used a steel hoop with a big game swivel attatched. dont look to bad, and does the job. them mad mikes studs are a bit brittle, so take care when screwing them in,as they aint made of steel.

Actually, you all get me thinking - I restored an MG a few years back and the fuel line clamps were like smooth jubilee clips, with two flanges compressed with a small bolt and nut to hold it tight. That might do the trick. Never thought of putting it on the barrel.

This is kinds of sling stud related, i've just got a T10 and it came with slingstuds already on it. Which of the more expensive bipods logun, harris etc will fit onto a sling stud? Do some of them enable a sling to be attached aswell as the bipod? I've looked at loads on the net but the pictures are usually too **** to see. I dont really want the sort that clip on and off the barrel. Plus i dont have anywhere on the end of the gun to connect to (do they call it the srogit or something??).

Any help would be great tar
