HeadShotHoncho
The only shooting i've done so far is a bit of long range feral (outdoors) and clearing them out of barns. Am hoping to get a permission as i've seen rabbits, woodies and crows on a farm next door and have known the farmer for years and have never heard anyone shooting on it, What groupings do i need to acheive at 30-40 yard to dispatch pigeon, rabbit and crow as i'm not cofident of shooting anything such as a rabbit without being able to shoot well, it would be inhumane and would probably lose me my first permission Gun is HW80 with 3-9X40 scope and using RWS Superdomes Many thanks, HSH Edited April 6, 2008 by HeadShotHoncho
russ91
there are people that take body shot which means you can have bigger groupings but i personally take headshots and i like to be able to at least put 10 shots inside a 1p coin size grouping. at ranges from 15yds to 45yds. Dead-Eyed Duck
The kill area on a rabbits head is roughly 0.75", so at first keep your range down to 30 yards. and then as your confidence in your abilities grow extend this. Obviously wear full cammo gear, and if you can, build a hide so that they get used to it. Most of us have started exactly the way that you have - good luck! bob300w
"What groupings do i need to acheive at 30-305 yard to dispatch pigeon," HW80 are good rifles, I give you that, but pigeon at 305 yards?
