Si-Bore
Hey guys As title. Do you find that the birds leave the area they normally flight and feed on in accordance to the wind direction? They bypassed all my shooting fields today. Also what are you finding they are feeding on at the moment? I only have rape to shoot over at the moment and until harvest I think it will be getting quieter and quieter.... Cheers Si
Rick O'Shea
If you are under a 50 yard wide flight line then you can decoy on anything, freshly ploughed, grazing, set aside, you name it. Atmospheric pressure around 28-29 inches mercury and falling etc. Not just young rape and stubble.
Mutley
Most of the pigeons in my area are ignoring the rape and going to pasture fields on the clover

It gets my mind ticking as to where so many birds can go? Si
Ferret Master
The flocks could have broken up a fair bit? FM
bob300w
The flocks could have broken up a fair bit? FM Certainly the huge flocks that we had in this area have now broken up, and dispersed, whether for breeding or left the country, who knows? Where there were flocks in the thousands, they are now in 50's.
Si-Bore
The flocks could have broken up a fair bit? FM I should have been more specific - I saw virtually no pigeon! Cheers Si
gadgit
Same in Cambridge on Thursday? 1600-1800...............bloke shot 90 in the same place last Sat. Almost all had completly gone.........never thought the wind change could make such a dramatic change? And of course, it has gone very cold throughtout the day in the shade. Perhaps they didn't like the conditions. Hoping they will be back next week :hmm: At one point we found a huge flock in a field. we nipped in, they all flew away............................and yes, they never came back?
