As for the air res, I asked & they said not to worry about it.

monkeyjaimz
Gearge, I think that you have to send it to a RFD if you are selling it. As for the air cylinder, I would definately empty it for the sake of safety Jim.
airssassin
If you are sending it for repair etc it's not illegal to send it by post BUT if you are selling it you can't send it directly to the buyer due to new legislation that came in recently, it needs to be sent via a gunshop. I think that most couriers have a policy about potentially explosive or flammable objects so emptying the cylinder is a good move although there is a danger that the seals might move (some of them require pressure to keep them in the right place). Personally, I would remove most but not all of the air from the cylinder so it's not dangerous but the seals stay where they are supposed to be. All non-flammable compressed gases are prohibited For example: Air Bags; Carbon Dioxide; Fire Extinguishers containing such gases; Neon and Nitrogen
jamieshoots
As long as you yourself are not a registered firearms dealer then you can send it as part of a private transaction but all transactions for rfd's must be done face to face meaning it needs to be sent to another rfd for collection in person. The changes in law do not affect the private sale of second hand legal limit air weapons. However be aware that some couriers including royal mail will no longer carry any form of weapon so it's best to check with them if they will carry it for you as if you send it throught without them knowing whats inside the parcel they will not insure you for any damage.
