Fisherman Mike
Goodbye and a fond fairwell to Old Cloughy... What a manager he was... His record with Forest and Derby County was a remarkable one and neither club have done anything since he left them. Those of us old enough to remember that fantastic Forest side of the 70,s can only recount in awe at their acheivements under Cloughy. I know many of you will accuse me of being a name dropper but at the height of my football career I met him once when he accompanied our Hellenic team manager Paul Richardson an ex Forest player, to an away match against Burton in the FA Trophy. He asked me what position I played, to which I replied Centre Half and he retorted "you cant be much good then, cus youve still got your own teeth" :yp: I think the bloke was a genius but quite mad as genius often is. It will be quiet at the City ground today.

apbuild
2 snippets from his life. Cloughie returned home late one freezing cold December night after an away game. On climbing into bed he woke up his wife. 'God, your feet are freezing', she snapped. 'Darling, when we are in bed, you can call me Brian'! he replied. And asked about his meeting with Muhammed Ali. 'Yes', he said, 'the man met me once'! No doubt, all of football will join in mourning such a great man and great character this weekend. Brian Clough RIP. eugene molloy
Aye, mad as a ferret, but a great bloke, a mans man, with a good heart. With Forest he won the European Cup twice.....even spending near on £200,000,000 in the last five years Jock Ferguson can't match him... as a man or a manager. lurcherboy
Any manager who gave his players whisky at half-time has got to be special. RIP LB :yp:
