henry d
Bottom of page one and top page 2 >>Here<< and on a personal note, if it`s roe size or smaller AAA`s are enough, however I`d try using other methods ie. scaring them first if possible. Outsidedays
Take a look at at the British Deer Society web site for full details but the following is an extract In general, the law forbids the use of smooth-bore guns to kill uninjured wild deer. BDS strongly supports this line and recommends that a full-bore rifle which meets the legal ballistic requirements of the Scottish and English/Welsh Deer Acts should always be the firearm of choice for deer management purposes. However the law allows the use any smooth-bore gun for the humane destruction of an injured or diseased deer in all parts of UK. At close range any size of shot fired from any gauge of shotgun is sufficiently lethal to end a deer's suffering humanely. BDS fully supports this use of shotguns on deer to end suffering provided they are used safely and according to the published Code on Conduct. Other Legal Use of a Shotgun Shotguns [in all cases 12 bore or larger] may be used to shoot at uninjured deer only: a) Where the deer are causing serious damage to agricultural crops, trees or other commercial property; http://www.bds.org.uk/use_of_shot_guns.html As for shot size AAA's are fine if you are close enough

Devilishdave
I am sure if you offer it up to the board members you will get some one to come in and do the job properly and humanely. I would offer to do it my self rather than see them shot gunned but I am 300 miles away. had a couple of nice roe down that neck of the woods last month when I was down visiting a friend of mine. Highlander
What species/gender as they may not be in season anyway. To shotgun deer you need a) to prove the damage & a special licence that will restrict the number you can kill. Only the landowner or an approved representative using their own gun may do so subject to a & b above. Like much to do with FAC SGC legals...if in doubt leave it out! As it's not worth the hassle you might find yourself landed with. To say nothing of how humane it might be! DON'T DO IT!
