tiercel
I asked a friend of mine to get me a fresh shot rabbit as I will need one tomorrow. He kindly offered to go out and get me one this evening. When he returned with the rabbit he told me that he had been having problems with the gun. Seems he fell on the gun and he thought that he had knocked the scopes out. So he had re-zeroed the gun till he had 1" groupings @ 70 yds off sticks. However, the first rabbit he shot was hit in the back end while he was aiming at the head at approx 80 yds. So he tried the zero again and it was well off. He once again zeroed the gun, but after a few shots it seems to be going off again. Any thoughts please as he is a good supplier of ferret food and would like to help him out. Teal
Probably really obvious, but could the scope be lose, tighten screws a little (make sure not to crack the glass!).

tiercel
Thank you all for your replies, I will be seeing him today and will tell him of your ideas. Personally what I know about rifles can be written on the back of a stamp in capital letters. But the first thing I thought of was the barrel floating, as I seem to remember a post about a barrel not floating properly and it was having the same effect as he is having now. Many thanks. Glynn
hi, had the same thing happen to me but my rifle was shooting high and left i had loosened a lense in the scope so had to have it sent away to be repaired, which actually worked out well as they sent me a brand new one free of charge! Good luck
