Cranfield
The spinning wing duck decoys are under threat in the USA. Arkansas has banned the use of all "mechanical duck decoys" from the start of the 2005 season. All of the other main duck hunting States, are reviewing their use. "Mechanical" includes jerk string decoys and wind powered ones. Could be some cheap secondhand ones available for conversion , very soon. Fisherman Mike
[how you making it mike? From a plastic shell deek and corrugated pvc board wings with a electric motor from the local model shop. I couldnt find a dual spindle motor, that is one with a spindle which runs through the motor and extends each end. So I have had to use a main central shaft with a cog mid way. The assembly is moulded into the shell of the deek with some resin from my glass fibre canoe repair kit. I have an old 2 channel rc set so I might try and build in a servo to turn it on and off with a speed deck from a model boat to vary the speed. In case you are all wondering... Rc modelling was a passion in my younger days.. FM
