Lloyd90
What types of ways are there for charging a PCP air rifle ? I know there are pumps and gas cylinders. Do you need a specialised pump ? I read somewhere a stirrup pump can charge a BSA Ultra, would this be acceptable http://www.sportswarehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Stirrup_Pump.html Appreciate some help as never really used a PCP before and dont know that much about them . cheers. Jim145
I agree, pumps are a pain. Get a bottle, you'll not regrett it.
Lloyd90
then how often do I need to fill the bottle ? where to fill ? I thought pumps would be more convenient, you could carry them in a day pack or something if out with your rifle and such. Please add more info guys, appreciate the tips, why is the bottle better ? Jim145
Diving shops and most decent gun shops will be able to fill the bottle for you. How often it needs filling depends on how much you shoot and what size bottle you buy. My bottle is a 12ltr 300 BAR - big and heavy, but it only needs filling twice a year. I do know people who use pumps, and are happy with them - maybe I'm just lazy! I easily get 60 consistant shots from my .177 S410 Carbine - plenty for a hunting trip. If I was going to need more shots than that I would either get a gun with a large shot count - Rapid 7 or BSA Superten, or just use a decent springer. MM
is bottle best something to do with the moisture in the air?
Jim145
is bottle best something to do with the moisture in the air? Bottled air is dry so you won't get moisture inside your air resovoir. I think the decent pumps have a filter in them to prevent moisture too.
