matto
For a change i thought id leave the shotguns at home and take my air rifle out yesterday. I set my pigeon decoys out near a spinney and set my hide up in the spinney. Id shot a few woodys when i heard a load plasticy thud and there it was a goshawk trying to eat a plastic pigeon about 20-25 yds in front of me. It was fascinating to watch but after about 5 mins i walked out to scare it off and re-set my deek that it had attacked. The bird had a bell on its foot so i thought someone was flying it but there was nobody else in the field. Then to my surprise the goshawk started attacking me,dive bombing me from really high,i had to drop to the floor a few times before legging it back to the spinney. Has this sort of thing happend to anybody else.
Cranfield
Perhaps it was an escapee and thought you had the odd day old chick in your pocket. There must be a telephone number you can call and report this incident. There is probably an Owner out there looking for it. Hopefully, someone knows the telephone number. Fisherman Mike
I got attacked by a tupping ram once when shooting.. I managed to leg it but my mate got Butted in the gonads and spent two days in hospital because his nuts swelled up to the size of a balloon... Wasnt funny at the time but we laugh about it now. As I said to the ram.. "your a baaa baaaad boy and ewe mutton do it again". :( Fm

red_stag88
I broke my femur playing rugby. The daft wench of a nurse wandered up to me and said "Hmm it is possible that it may be broken". To most people it was blindingly obvious because of the fact my leg almost made triangle. I would have replied in some very coarse English, however my tongue was firmly clenched betwixt my teeth
matto
Thanks Browning,i called those numbers and the woman from the British falcon association put somebody in touch with me. It would seem that a goshawk has gone missing not too far from me. Anyway some bloke is meeting me tomorrow so i can show him round the fields i was shooting in when i was attacked,we will try and lure it out with some dead pigeons if it's still in the area. Hopefully it is so we can return it to it's owner and i can get back to shooting because all the pigeons and me scarperd pretty quickly yesterday, even the resident buzzard has done a runner. Cranfield
Well done matto, lets hope that the owner and his goshawk are reunited, following your efforts.
