JohnGalway
I have used two different Nightforce scopes old one was a 3.5-15x50 NXS, current one is a 5.5-22x56 NXS. Both have the NP-R2 reticle but there are different versions of it and the 5.5-22 version is MUCH better. Yet to use my Leupold at night but during the day I'm very impressed by it, nice Boone & Crockett reticle. Used an MTC Viper 4-16x50 on both my old .223 and my current .22lr. I've also used a Simmons Blazer 3-9x50 on my .22lr when I got it first, Ebay 50 Euro delivered from USA lol.
Hodmedod.one
Nightforce 8-32x56 NP R2 reticle  Before that I had a Schmidt + Bender 8x56. Excellent optics, but I wanted a finer reticle and higher magnification.

Dave-G
Burris LaserScope, but there are no clamps to fit it so I clamp the lamp under the sound mod which also removes any possibility of flareback. Thats on my Quad. I use a WTC 4x40 wide angle for the Cyclone. Edited June 6, 2008 by Dave-G

JohnGalway
Used an MTC Viper 4-16x50 on both my old .223 and my current .22lr. how did you find the mtc was on your .223 i have been thinking about one for mine but was told they cant handle the reacoil of a centerfire i have always liked the cool ret and the highmag on them thanks for any info neil The MTC will handle centrefire recoil no problem, they've been used on some much larger calibres than .223's with no problems that I have heard of. I'm not overly impressed by them now to be very honest. There are some issues with high magnification I believe the edges of the field of view white out or blur a bit? If I were you I would save a little more and look at a Leupold maybe or something a little better I got a Leupold VX-III (I think!) 4.5-14x50, not yet used it at night but it's excellent in daytime. The MTC isn't much good at dawn dusk time, I have used it out ambushing crows and rabbits at that time and I could see much more with my own eyes rather than through the scope. In daylight it's good enough, and ok under the lamp but not stunning. If you would like a link to a good Leupold seller in the USA let me know by PM

JohnGalway
It was $700 when I bought it which works out around the £355 mark now, I believe the exchange rate was better back then? It's a very nice scope IMO.
