waiting for sgc visit....

Recommended Posts

ive been waiting a while now after sending off my application for a shotgun cert.....should be due a visit quite soon i guess.

can i just get it clear in my head, so that i dont shoot myself in the foot ( pardon the pun)...or get anyone else in trouble...

ive been going to a shooting club with my mate ( who's a sgc/firearm holder) and shooting clays with his gun.....

this is aloud ? right ?

any idea's what sort of questions ill be asked etc....

i have written permission from land owner to shoot vermin etc ( however its not local to me, its on 900 acres of farm land near my dads house which is 2 hours drive away)

i have cabinet installed and ready...

sure its been covered i million times here but any helps greatley appreciated....

mat.

p.s, when (if) im sorted, im looking to buy a second hand lanber if anyone can help....?

Glad it went well for you. It's really funny to read how everyone sits there s******** themselves before a visit, I did the same! Once it's over it all seems easy, and you can sit back and wait for the paperwork to arrive. 2-4 weeks is good, but don't hold your breath. Relax, it'll be with you soon hopefully :good:

I have a second hand Lanber (check out my signature! :good: ). They are excellent. If you are going for game shooting, go for a 28''. Go for something like a 30'' if clay- but it is personal preference. You will be looking to pay about 200-400 depending. Don't fret too much about chokes- just remember not to have too tight choking.

cheers guys, sorry bout the super slow response ive been chocka with work ( plumbing/gas/heating engineer)....

yes, it wasnt bad at all...... it wasnt wilcox, it was a guy called gregory ?? something... cant recall his surname........ the usual guy round my way is called tom slavin, but apparently he's off with a broken ankle !!!

like i said, now ive got to save some cash for a second hand lanber ive set my heart on.... i believe them to be a good gun for the cash.....

if anyone has one for sale, let me know...

andy-rv, where bout are you mate.... i dont see many other locals lads on here? im looking for some rough shoot land local to me , maybe frodsham, helsby manly, delamere, dutton etc etc.... if you can suggest anywhere id be very great full, as im just starting out and have no real freinds involved, it seems evry one who has a permission wants to keep their cards to their chest ( and i can see why) and no one really wants to have other shooters asking for permission on their land etc etc.... but its tricky mate..... im very wary of farm dogs and the prospects of being mauled by one arnt appealing.... imagine turning up to ask for consent and as the farmer comes to his door he whitnesses you kicking severn shades out of his dog !!!! ha ha ha ..... best go with a pocket full of buiscit's......

so, any help is greatly appreciated.....

i ve said it before, if anyone here needs my help fixing their heating, i can talk them through the most complex of jobs and save them a fortune, all out of the goodness of my heart i might add.....

so come on guys...... give a guy a break.........just out of curiosity, how many on the post count before people will talk to you round here.... seems most of my posts go un replied to and often cut a thread short or end it all together.....im not going in the PW arms.... " ive never missed that dart board "!!!

must be somthing ive said i guess.......
