starlight32
Strange one on me this. Introduced a friend to shooting and he has duly put all his paperwork in. Used his doctor of 20 years to act as a signatory- no problem. Just put his forms into Kent police and they have been returned with a letter explaining that the person used to sign his application was not 'suitable' My mate questioned this with Kent Firearms division because as we all know what more could they want. All they would remark is that this particular gentlemen was not 'suitable' to act as signatory- End of! I am now coming up to my fifth renewal and have always used my doc. I know in recent times many doctors have refused to sign shotgun/FAC certs due to ethics but this a little strange But there is there more to this than meets the eye??? I reckon this quack may have done a bit of Patient fondling but not struck off To boot my mate did not pay for the signature either. Seems a bit odd don't it? However as a first reccommendation I have suggested he changes GP Please note I have just posted my first serious thread in 3 months just for the record...... LEFTY478
Could it be a simple as the Doc hasn't been resident in the UK for the last 3, 5 or however many years is required. Although, if it was that, surely the Ol' Bill would have said so?
njc110381
Not as "his doc for 20 years". I recon he's done something a little out of order in the past and they don't like him, maybe some self prescriptions? Find another referee I guess. The police don't seem that fussy. My accountant and old boss did my FAC
Harnser
Starlight , I think you have hit the nail on the head . I would think that the doctor concerned is under a bit of a cloud . Harnser .
