reedbradshaw
I first thought that the reason a copper comes in to your house before the grant of a SGC was to give you a proper grilling ? i pictured him asking me awkward questions where any answer i would give would be wrong. But actually the FEO was a friendly bloke who answered ALL my questions with great detail no matter how stupid they were. This included whats the best cartridge for rabbits, Why and how do people use chokes. Not only this but he was brimming with local knowledge. He reccomended local gun shops, clay grounds and where to get lessons. He also taught me a great deal of safety some things which seem blindingly obvious which i normally did by bad habit, for instance when cocking the gun use the action in the stock rather than the barrel so the barrel always stays pointing at the floor. So people who are waiting for a SGC visit...its nothing to worry about. I was scared stiff...now i look back it was little more than a friendly chat about firearms, their legislation and the safety aspect that comes with them. Naughty. Glad it went well for you. SGC isn't really a big deal, as long as you're not actually doing bird, or don't try to shoot the FEO during his visit, and so on. I think it's more of reason not to grant situation. Robert

S'trewth, even Merlin looks more relaxed than that. Oh, and my avatar is not me either.
