New permission

Me and Lucky Jim have scored some new permission and it is bunny central and as it happens it is on the edge of one permission that we have and the bunnies radiate out from here. The owners were happy at first when they bought the house and land, approx 15 acres, to see a few squirrels and rabbits about. 12 months down the line they have had nothing but bother and have had quite a bit of damage from them.

I went out one evening, as I had to get some rabbits for a stew at work, and I shot 1 on the way up the drive and 3 others within 20m of leaving the car.

The house is a an old sandstone place that belonged to the areas Laird and has a lovely tiered walled garden, however the main area the rabbits are making a mess of is the floodlight formal gardens Dead easy pickings at the moment and we hope to keep it like that through the summer and into winter. Another nice feature is they have created a banking as behind it is a seldom used pathway, so it gives a very safe backstop

 

Anyway I shot 12 within an hour just slowly walking through the gardens, however it should have been a Bakers dozen as one headshot bunny managed to kick back down a hole and even with my arm fully down the hole I couldn`t feel it, I don`t think it would have suffered too much as both the mouth of the hole and my jacket sleeve were liberally covered in blood
