pete evans
hi all thinking of getting some flying decoys for my magnet. i cant decide if im going to buy the fairly solid type that are quite expensive, the cheapo foamy die cut ones or make my own from full bodied deeks and some foam rubber sheet. What are peoples thoughts on the different types of flying deeks? pete
pete k
hi pete , i have found that the foam style ones are quite good as they dont drain the battery so much but they dont look as affective and they tend to blow around all over the place in windy conditions and have had a couple turn upside down pete

Hi Pete, On my whirlygig machine, I Use a couple of shell deeks, then attach the wings off real woodies (dead ones!!) these work great and last for ages, hope this helps. Cranfield
I have foam cutouts and the flocked open winged decoys (which need handling carefully). However, 90% of the time I use two dead pigeons saved in my freezer from the last shooting session. I don't think you can improve on the real thing.
