Billett
How much land would be required for a 10 stand sporting clay shoot including fallout (in acre's)
Mungler
Okay I have no idea how to post a link to Google Earth but here are the co-ordinates for "Big Als'" 51°37'51.24"N 0°22'23.69"E We used to shoot this every saturday until it shut down recently when the house was sold. The stands faced out onto fields which Al had permission to shoot over (in so much as the shot would fall out). There were 5 stands (50 birder) and a practice / training stand. You can see the straw bale stands in Google Earth More of a FITASC set up, but enough for us. Obviously no high tower action, but pretty much everything else. Anyways, what's that - about an acre? Tops. So, in answer to your question, depends what you want to do / achieve. EDIT. Link on Google maps http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&t=...002403&z=19 Zoom right in, the stands are on the right (not to be confused with the trees on the left) 3 O'clock from the donut looking fishing lake Edited August 25, 2008 by Mungler

garyb
I believe the CPSA say 300 yards min for safe shot fallout
Peter De La Mare
10 Acres, from what I have read.
jayward
An American football field is 100yards long excluding end zones and 53 yards wide this covers and area of 1.32 acres in total ! this is not a answer to your question its a insight into perspective so you can see the area required for safe fallout !! so if you stood in the center and shot forward only thats 3 pitches around 4 acres now if ya shot to the left and right then ya would be needing 12 x 3 pitches ishh i don't have the time or inclination to work out the radius so im summing up for you 47.52 acres but as i say it will be less due to the fact the diagonal will be more than the 300 yards required !! my local club is 6 acres and has 12 stands but they have permision to shoot over the adjoining fields Edited August 26, 2008 by jayward
