Big_Sam
im kinda new to the sport and dont know much about it , so whats an RFD?? RFD = Registered Firearms Dealer It means they have a licence to supply and manufacturer firearms. You will need a Shotgun Certificate to buy a shotgun. Big_Sam
Have you done much shooting with shotguns? I would recommend you get some experience with one, then the police will be more likely to give you a certificate without hassle.

I had one lesson when i put in for my SGC, not exactly what i'd term experience. Just pointing it out for the new guy, no sense worrying people needlessly. I just told FEO I was joining the local wildfowling club (which I was, and am now a member of ) no probs at all
bout100
well ive had 3 lessons and wll become a member of the local clay club. should that be a problem?
vole
I think that is absolutely A1 for any SGC application.Get reading the BASC shotgun handbook to swot up on safety etc and get out with the experienced lads. What you say about your lessons is exactly the same as me. My FEO did ask their names just to make sure. If you are serious about shooting you will be fine. Welcome ! ps I got my Escort cammo brand new for £310 if that helps you get a bargain. An Escort S/A is more a game gun than a clay gun I would have thought though. Good luck and welcome to the sport. Edited August 29, 2008 by vole21
Markio
well ive had 3 lessons and wll become a member of the local clay club. should that be a problem? No problem at all. They need to have good reason not to OK your application. The fact is you've tried shooting, enjoyed it and want a SGC so you can buy you're own gun to peruse your new hobby. As long as you're a stand up guy then you'll be fine. Get the form filled it and cheque made out.
