Hi,

Whilst on hols in the borders (scotland) I bought myself this hammer gun.

It is an Armatrong of Newcastle 12g Hammer gun. I beleive it is a 1905 era make but rebarelled in the early 50's

But can anybody total decipher the proof marks, and tell me what size carts will fit. I think a 65mm 28g should be Ok,

but was wondering if a 32g Eley hgih bird would work as well cos that the load I use thru my other sbs.

Barell length is 30" and a quick measure with my choke gaues is showing 1/4 & 3/4,

but as these are choke ratings from a standard .729" barrel and these ones are slightly tighter than that at the measuring point, & the true choking should be done in relation to the barell size, there fore Iam not totally sure on the exact choking.

Just the one (Side by side) 12 bore these days, although i've had all sorts in the past.

Just no need for loads.

I think in the early stages of SGC ownership, we like to explore new toys, but then settle on something practical and useable.

Beware of the man who only has one gun , hes proberbly a good shot . Harnser .

All great ideas! ??? Thw more you own, the harder it is to become familiar with all of them.
