I can only quote my personal experience with Cambridge constabulary,at the time I had just eight acres and they seem quite happy for me to have a.22 Rimfire.I should imagine where the land is situated will also plays apart. The cost for the FAC is£50,hope that helps..

I had just over 60 acres when Devon and Cornwall gave me a 22lr and 17HMR. Took about 10 weeks to come through after it was posted. Costs £50, same as your SGC , they come and do a home visit, check your safe etc. It can be in your existing safe, but you do need to have somewhere secure to keep your ammunition. Would suggest you put down 750 to keep and 500 to buy. If I can help at all give me a PM as I'm not a million miles away.

cheers

.22 rimfire = CZ 452 bolt action rifle.

S/H rifle £150 or less, BKL's £25, Simmons 6-24x50 scope + B/C covers around £100 new, SAK mod £35 new, Lightforce 140/170 lamp (I use both) around £100 with a decent battery, dimmer, filters, gunbag £25 inc post.

£435 or there abouts.

You can add a Timney trigger £60 or a brooks kit for £12, HW butt pad £1 & some work on the stock £20 plus two harris bipods.

Still have change for ammo, Eley subs for £22.50 for 500 & a bag of chips on the way home from lamping.
