The Sniper
PT, They look a lot like the High Tec magnums, that I have a pair of. They are very comfortable to wear and break in, but don't expect the uppers to be waterproof at all. If you can get them at £30 you will have a bargain. PTaylor2k4
Which magnums have you got? and which can you get or is it just the 1? thanks
Gemini
Yup, Magnums. I’ve got a pair, and they are great for normal wear as they are very light. The only down side is that they let any wetness in through the webbing part of the boot. Walking through wet grass will mean wet feet after only a couple of hundred yards or so. But in very short stuff you will find them to be pretty good. Watch what you pay for them on ebay, as you could end up paying more that you would from a normal outlet (besides ebay are now refusing to allow shooting related goods such as reloading gear or gunslips etc, so I won’t be using it any more) http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/ishop/877/shopscr1082.html G.M. Funny how the picture looks exactly the same !!!!!!!

Pointer
I have a pair of the Boots you are looking at. They are a great summer boot but rubbish in the wet. No amount of nik - Wax / dubbing will make them waterproof because of the cordura sides which let your feet breath, hence a great summer boot. SNAKEBITE
I have been wearing black ankle high boots which I can get from work (free!) with a plastic sole. Either that or a pair of brown "bulders boots" with the fur lining. Both are relatively water proof and comfy but are they suitable?
PTaylor2k4
i bought the ones for £25 and they arrived today, they have a runner sole and look just what i need, i dont usually jump in puddles and walk in high grass

Sergeant
Has anyone used army combat boots. There very good quality with lots of support and waterproof. There reasonably cheap too.
Devilishdave
That is the New (ish) army issue boots for cold weather. They are Goretex with a Vibram sole and sweat wicking insole. They seam pretty good and dont take much breaking in but the still offer lots of support. The old Army Pro Boot is a good bit of kit, it is baisicly just a copy of the Danner or Materhorn. Army assault boots are nothing special but are verry comfartable and reasonably hard wearing. They all tend to be waterproof to the top of the tongue if you look after them correctly. AdamW
If you want Very good cheap boots look here... http://www.sierratradingpost.com/xq/asp/de...ist_display.htm But make sure you get the size right.. try here... http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html I have placed a few orders with them.. the gear is very good... you can sometimes get stuck with import duties.. but even with that its still very cheap... Have a look at some of he camo gear as well... and only takes a couple of weeks to get to you... Adam
