Cosd
I see these things advertised everywhere, they look like a keyring to me ! One of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BERETTA-CLAY-SHOOTIN...id=p3286.c0.m14 Edited October 30, 2008 by Cosd
Breastman
They're mainly for clay shooters, you attach them to your laces/boots to rest your shotguns muzzles on (gun broken and unloaded of course!). They save marking your shoes/boots and stop you clattering your gun off things/pointing muzzles at people over your shoulder. Mark

clayman
Really, these are a trap shooters accessory. If you shoot DTL / ABT / DT / OT / UT then you shoot in rounds of 25, with 5 shooting stations, and you shoot every 5th or 6th person. As this rotation takes a few minutes, you will usually rest the open gun barrels on your shoe-toes while waiting for the rotation to come around to you. Needless to say, this puts wear into your nice brogues, and a bit of leather over the top saves them.
