just thought I would pop down the local farm, (5mins away) walked down the muddy track and I noticed an old bloke sitting in his 4x4. I walked over to him and asked him about having any trouble with rabbits and he replied "I've got loads of the the bloody things." I asked him if he would mind me and a friend could shoot. He replied by saying as long as I am careful about his animals. I said of course, I also said I don't have a permission form on me but if you don't mind I can return with one. He said that was not a problem.

great news :yahoo::yahoo:

dont take the mick, and look after it. remeber all the things you though you would do when you got a shoot, and stick to them. one thing i find, is that i end up with a bag of rubbish in the boot (other peoples, not mine). it all helps. :yahoo:

you don't need cammo gear mate,

just find a place that looks ''rabbity'' if you know what i mean. (short grass, big patches of bramble, on the edge of cover ect) get in to a comfy position about 20m away. i just lay along the side of a hedge or something. about an hour before dark i find works well for me and then wait. you'll see them come out of the cover a foot or two and then stop. if there in range just take them then don't go and pick up because another one will probably be along in about 5 mins.

Nice one! The first is always the hardest, and if you treat the old guy well he may well be able to get you more permission from his friends. Christmas is coming, and a bottle of something nice is always a kind gesture which goes a long way.

As for the bunnies, most has been said already. Set up away from the warren, and always down wind from them. I usualy like to be out in the field rather than against the edge. About 25 yards out is good, and behind a tuft of grass if you can find one. The main thing is to keep the wind in your face and keep still! Try to walk very softly as they warn each other by stamping, and if they can hear their friend stamping on the ground, imagine how loud you will be!
