Ean76
Hi all, need some advice here. I will speak with my FLO in due course but was wondering if anyone else out there has either experienced this or may know someone who has. I hold a SGC and have a shotgun at home, stored in a cabinet as per the requirement. However, my marriage is all but over and I am now in the process of looking to live outside of the family home. It's likely that I will rent a room in another house for 6months+, so that I can get things sorted. It's all being done amicably, as we have 3 kids and this has come as no real shock to us both. My question is what must I do about my gun? Can I leave it at the house, take the keys with me as I will still have access to it when visiting. Or do I have to take it all with me, despite the fact that it could be a house of multiple occupancy, possibly in an area which has a high crime rate and pants home security? Any advice received with thanks in advance. ?? ?? ?? ??
dustyfox
Im sure people may tell you on here what to do. But the best person to ask is your FEO.
GJUK
If you still own your house and it's still your 'home address' even if you may be living away from there for quite some time. I can't see a problem from an average persons point of view. If you describe the situation to your FEO as one of you moving out for good, initially for a 6 month period. He might be more worried about you leaving the guns in your 'old' house for 6 months. Talk to him but word it correctly?
Harnser
You could allways gift your guns to a friend or friends . At a later stage you could have them back when you have got your self sorted out . You wont have to worry about the security of the guns . It will proberbly give you peace of mind . Harnser . dogfox
try storing them at your rfd? id say your FLO would have no problem with it, its far easier in ireland, you dont even need a gun cabinet to hold a shotgun, and your house isnt inspected until you have over 5+ (i think its 5) guns in the house, then you need to have a surveilance system fitted.
