Hi,

was just wondering has anyone had much sucsess lately decoying pigeons on the rape? I`ve seen plenty about but seems to me that there is to much rape about to keep them in one place. What is your opinion on this?

If you have been sucsessfull what size bags have you been getting and what location?

I was out shooting this morning and found huge numbers were shifting from field to field, but sadly not in my permission! Theres a great deal of rape grown round here and like yourself-the pigeons have lots to choose from.

My bag this morning wasnt great at just six,but thats life i suppose!

Went out with PROTOM1 on Tue and had some success but not a lot lol, 10 birds between 2 of us, as some of you have said there is loads of rape about and the flocks on that particular day were moving from field to field but never really in mine! - still a good day out though

This is just a normal winter. Loads of pigeon but can't get them. I have plenty of land to shoot on, with plenty of winter rape. You can chase them around all day, when they're spoilt for choice.

I still enjoy it nevertheless, and usually every winter I get at least one half decent bag, when it all comes together.

I think if you get over 20 in the winter, that aint bad.

I think baldrick's bag of 67 is excellent :good:

Spent the morning out, setting up at first light after I'd fed the pheasants. Very little wind today, but parked under a noted and reliable flightline I accounted for 43 by noon. Those Hypa-Flaps certainly work. With a good breeze, I would have had a good bag in that location. The flocks here are enormous, but thankfully there are plenty of stragglers.

Just being out on a crisp, still morning was enjoyable. There were quite a few lengthy lulls, so I got to watch the fallow and buzzards pottering about. A fox legged it over the field about 200 yards away, but didn't want to be called.
