bootneck
Just purchased a new Weihrauch 99s, break barrel .22 Does anyone have any experience of putting a moderator/silencer on one of these, is it going to make a noticeable difference to reducing the sound? Thanks in advance. Bootneck
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Not much use but will help. A smooth quiet action is best to achieve first. Strip & relube / tune time !!!
cometa24/7
hi bootneck, i would take it to your local gun dealer,to have the mod fitted.because if he gets it wrong. he's got to re- do it for free. but on the side of sound. according to my local gun dealer. if your going to shoot targets etc. in your back garden and dont want the nieghours to know. it's useless. but out in the field when shooting rabbits in front of you.it will cut out the crack...hope this helps. sitsinhedges
I cut my barrel down before fitting the silencer so the gun still balances nicely and looks right too.

richie76
Quote-laf.not much point putting one on a springer its a mechanical noise the twang ov the spring my mate had a silencer on a spring gun,He said- if your at the side or behind the gun it makes no difference at all, If you in front of it it makes a little, If you need a silenced air rifle sell the 1 you have and buy a silenced pcp. bullet boy
Get it to your local gun-shop for fitting and go for a Logun silencer.
