deejay
Hi here are a couple of pics of my remington before and after i done some little surgery to the woodwork. Just want to know from your point of view which one would you rather have . It was a simple matter of removing the varnish with paint stripper and wire wool then adding a little bit of teak oil here and there . Cheers Daz

Imperfection
I prefer the oiled finish-it shows the grain off much better.

Also Steve many thanks I too believe the oil shows up the grain a lot more . My stepson thinks the older version is more better looking as he says it Cheers Daz

bullet boy
An oiled stock always looks nicer-brings the grain out better too.

Baldrick
That looks great. How did you get on with scrubbing all the lacquer out of the impressed chequering though? Before I got synthetic furniture for my Remington, I wondered whether to strip and oil the stock.
