Andy W
Hi guys, First off, I have used the search facilty and sort of found the information that I was looking for but not a definitive answer. I am going to start getting some decoy equipment together and just after a bit of advice, I know cheap is not best and to avoid shiney decoys as they look un natural (obviously) but what are the advantages of shell and full body decoys? I can see that shells are easier to carry as they take up less room and would probably be fine as feeding on the ground birds but what about using a shell on a longer pole, does it still look natural to a pigeon? How many heads down and head up would you recommend to start up, do you generally use a mixture of shells and full body, what type of flapper, flying pigeon on bouncer and which rotaries are value for money as they vary enormously in price etc. Cheers guys. Imperfection
I use a mixture of shells and full cos i dont want to haul more than i have to around fields and full decoys do take up more space in rucksacks etc.I use 4 shells and 4 full decoys which does the trick and it isnt a great deal to carry.Flocked deeks are the best, but they are a little bit more expensive so shop around for best prices. mikee
a mixture of shells and full bodies is best as the shells add more movement to the pattern as well as taking up less room in the bag, a few floaters and a magnet should also go on your christmas list but a good number of deeks will do for a start, i use 30-40 mikee
