baz
Hello all, Great site you have here, I normally shoot sporting clays, with a 682 Gold E, I’m looking at buying a spare gun just for pigeons and like the look and feel of the sil-pig v, Do you think there would be any disadvantages using my current gun, or is a game gun noticeably better for the job. regards......baz
Roger_Rabbit
baz, .. save your money. If your shooting sporting clays to a standard that your happy with or improving then your 682 is perfect for pigeon. (my opinion) Start chopping and changing guns and your shooting will deteriorate. Alternatively you could buy a second hand 682 Gold E. (moneybags) that you don't mind getting knocked about, pigeon hides are not like trap stands. Pointer
Welcome to the site baz.... If you shoot well with the sporter then use that, plus your sporter will be kinder on your shoulder as it will absorb more recoil than a game gun, especialy when the birds are coming in thick and fast. If however your just looking for the perfect excuse to buy another gun then go for it!!! Rgds Pointer

But dont stop buying ,dont know if your hitched, but just incase ,the excuse of that gun for this and this gun for that ,and the rest well make your own mind up the 682E is a nice toy swings well ,a good all around gun .I was shooting the Beretta AL391 Teknys sunday on targets ,a very nice S/A fairly light and responsive ,lighter recoil and faster 2nd shot than a lot of auto's ,make a nice addition to any collection. welcome to PW baz. baz
thanks for the very quick replies, i think i'll use the 682 for now, i suppose i better see if there are actually any pigeons on the land i'm going on first. with regards the 391 martin i had one until a month ago not a teknys but a urika, which i hardly used so i sold it to bamfords at eccleston for £100 less than it was new, so i lost very little on it. it was a spare gun really just for my mates to use when they fancied giving the clays a go as a bit of a day out for them. I want to give the pigeons a go so i can spend most of the day shooting rather than an hour or so on the clays. that's if i actually manage to hit any. thanks...baz
