tazkb
just spent a day down staffordshire with a cracking chap called Paul who i met on Pw forum, cracking place and hundreds of pigeons which stayed about 2 miles away all bloody day we could see em and the gas gun would put them up every so often but sure enough back down onto the same field they landed time after time then at about 3:30 it went mad for half an hour but as it was crystal clear day with the sun setting and not a breath of wind they stayed really high, we got a few but you allways felt there was going to be a mad rush, as soon as they caught a flash of our rotary and deek patern, but alas it never materialised. still i got to spend a full day with my best mate out in the country air, and got to meet a proper nice new friend, what more can a man ask for between christmas and new year. tazkb
you know i don't mind driving the 160 odd miles to spend a day in such a lovely part of the country with such a nice bloke like Paul, I am absolutley knackered, more than I have been for over 12 months and I have a feeling I will be in twice as much pain tomorow than I am today (and iv'e had extra morphine allready ) but i don't care, well I do but i would certainly do it again i would love to live around that part of the country but I would certainly need some sort of transport like a quad or some thing along those lines, it's just so big. Thanks again Paul your a real gent mate

tazkb
so do I mate so do I thing is it's getting harder every year as my health deteriorates, today was a serious strugle but to be out in the country side with a couple of mates, despite the freezing temp reminded me of what life is all about, A day like today coupled with my kids and wife is what gives me the inner strength to fight to stay alive and keep on going. The other is thinking the next time you go might just be that red letter day you dream about, i havn't had one for years now so I must be getting due for one anytime soon but boy am I paying now, I am in agony and tomorow will be worse followed by the day after, that's how it is for me, ho hum I still enjoy different parts of this green and pleasent land and meeting like minded people who share my love for country sports, there is another thread with lot's of people bitching at me and me biting back maybe this shows them I'm human just like them, I have my principles and I stick to my guns but i'm not a bad lad and I believe most people who meet me would agree
p-a-s
tazkb.it was a pleasure meeting you and scott today, judging by the amount of empty shells we picked up from your hide if you had connected with just half of them it would have been a double red letter day lol.im not slating you keith i know they was high birds.and another contributing factor is the area we shot today is shot on a regular basis,i know a couple of lads that shoot it every sunday,i would have liked to have taken you on a fri or sat just so its had 5/6 days to get calm down but as you could only get today,we didnt have a choice.(except not go).any way i will be looking at the new place in the morning.whenever you fancy another day out just pm me.atb and see about getting some knobleys on tha scooter lol.paul
tazkb
Thanks Again Paul, part of the number of shells I used where out of shear frustration really mate and they where mostley odd boxs of odd sizes that needed using up, I didn't really make the best use of the field you kindley let us shoot, but if i'm honest today was about meeting you and spending what is becomming a rare day out with my best mate and not shooting 100's of pigeons, I new from the first hour it was going to be difficult and I was bloody freezing, my highlite of the day is a toss up between the last pigeon I shot which was a real corker which jinked right out to about 50yrds and watching you chase that bloomin crow half way round the top field anyway I new you wanted a few empty shell cases to re-load like i have allready said Paul it was a pleasure to meet you and both myself and scott had a thourghly good day, and some thing i fully intend to do again early in the new year
