Hi All!

Just wondering if anyone else has had any of their farmers starting to drill any seeds.

I have got 70 acres that have just had beans planted and I only realised that the farmer had planted them early week by GOING TO THE FARMER AND ASKING HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!

We set up with 22 dead crows we had shot the night before (going into roost) and shot 47 crows and 2 pigeons in the last 4 hrs of the day.

And never saw a bean on top anywhere.

So a suggestion to MAKE SURE you speak to the farmer/s REGULARLY and not just drive round doing a recce hoping to find something worth shooting.

CUZ as we all know the famers VERY RARELY ring you up, and ALWAYS tell you "they were on my field ALL last week/end when YOU WEREN'T".

LOL

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi All!

Dave K here. just thought i would pop my 2 bob's worth in.

Went out yesterday early for a "basil" or a "munty".Stayed till 8.30am and had a quick look found; nothing flying anywhere.

Popped home for brekkie and then drove round all our land 20k+ acres and couldn't find pigeons anywhere. wot a nightmare. 4hrs for a recce!!!!!!!!!!!.

TILL TODAY.

Found hundreds flitting around and finally decided to drop onto 80 acres of BEANS which had been planted 2weeks ago and they came in ALL DAY long.

FAST,HIGH,LOW and steady. It was freezing here in the midlands with the wind blowing down our necks but we didn't care as we finally ended up with 118 ;all pigeons and not a crow to be seen. (most crops full of OSR)

Finally, a nice day that came together.

HIT a Lot and MISSED a FEW.

MAGIC!

Spec: 12b miroku & 12b browning. 6 X 32 Pigeon specials and used up 6 1/2 boxes of shells.

Home now ,WARRRM and fed.

Roll on the snow & ice.

Rang one of my farmers to ask about beans and told that they were just going in. Got there two days later but not a pigeon to be seen. Could not make out any beans on the soil either, so guess they were put in pretty deep (this seems to be the norm these days). Also went round 10 OSR fields and no pigeons on these either. Finished up going to a roost wood and getting half a dozen but not much to show for 10 hours in the field! Clipper
