  1. Nice gun. I suppose a gunsmith could take an inch or so off the barrel to get it down to half choke, yes?

  2. Has any thought been given to shooting Insurance for PW members does anyone know? Would we need to make PW a bona-vide membership group? I've been with a view groups in the past which offered it and wondered if PW should as well? Just a thought Im throwing out. Also, pigeon prices; today I got 10p for frozen and 20p for fresh, is this an all-time low? I was getting 30p a bird in 1975!
  3. Hello Pigeon Watch. After years of using a side by side for pest control Im thinking of getting an over and under for pest work and clay work. Dont want to take out a second mortgage so any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks.
  4. Great looking gun. Did all No 3's have the screw locking screws as mine doesn't have them?
  5. Yes indeed, a No 3. I have a very nice one for sale also for £175 if its OK to say so here? If it is, do ask for details.
  6. I have an AYA No 3, non-ejector, 28" barrels, 14 & 5/8" stock, 1/2 & 3/4 choke in virtually mint condition which could be yours for £175. I'm in North Cambs. Dont normally check this site every day but will keep an eye on it now.
  7. Thanks GH but am new on this site really so don't know how to do that but I'll have a go. Thanks again.
  8. OK EHB, how do we do this? I'm out in the field today, possibly all day but may be in pm. Do you want to pop up for them? I'm in most days Cheers. . PS, Heading out, back now (noon).
  9. Still got 30+ in my freezer if you do want some?

    12-bore pump wanted

OK mate, will do. Thanks. PS, Anyone know how I find a particular gun/dealer, on this site, there must be a short cut which I haven't figured out yet as there a lot of pages? Cheers.
  11. Hi. I've got about 30 in my freezer if you're interested? All cooled down properly before freezing and I'm in North Cambs (PE13). Get in touch if they are of use and that will save me driving over to the game dealer as well. PS to last. Will be taking them to Game Dealer soon so do get back to me if you really do want them.
  12. Hi, Looking for a 12-bore, 3-shot pump, 24/26" barrel, fixed choke OK if not less than half choke with a stock of not less than 14 and 1/2" and within 20 miles on North Cambs if possible. Any out there?
  13. I find I'm shooting a few less than in previous years as I spend a lot of time placing gas guns, fixing whirly's, putting out rope bangers, firing off rockets and making flags to put on crops being hit. If all that fails, I do then set up and shoot them over decoys with a flapper. Last years total about 550 which either went to the game dealer or were eaten. Also do some beating which is great for the 'craic' etc.

    cheap 410 wanted

Hi, saw your ad. Have you thought about a 20-bore for your son? When I got back into shooting 4 years ago I started off with an AYA Cosmos 20 bore, SB. They are a great little gun and muh more useful than a .410 in my experience. I'm in touch with a fellow PW member who has one for sale (about £70 I think but he may come down a bit). If you want, I can put you in touch. Good luck, Axel

    Wanted

Hi, have you tried the Gun Trader web site? Its packed full of guns, all prices and types etc. I used it to get my AYA Yeoman for £60 (plus £40 spent on a 'service'). I dont think you can beat the Yeoman for value and my gunsmith says they're a good working gun, easy to fix if they do go wrong. Good luck mate, Axel

    Camo net

Im not promising but Leave it with me mate i should be able to grab you some but it will be the old type string with the camo squares on it, all you would need to do is pay the postage If that helps drop me a PM Cheers mate, sounds good, Axel

    Camo net

Hi Pigeon Watch. I need a bit more camo netting as my son now shoots with me. About 6' x 4' would do. Anyone got a piece they can spare for a few quid (I'm not being mean but I dont want to pay £30 odd for more than I need). Cheers & good shooting, Clipper. PS My Greener GP is still for sale at £105, where else can you buy an English gun at that price, come on!!)
  18. Great litle gun. I brought one when I got back into shooting 3 years ago and it did stirling work. I've still got the end of the barrel (my gunsmith took it back to 1/4 choke). I sold it when I got myself an AYA 12-bore SS but now wish I hadnt. If you dont sell it locally, do get in touch and perhaps we could meet half-way? Cheers, Clipper (Cambs)

    Greener GP

Greener GP, Mark 1, 30" barrel, 1/2 choke, 14 & 3/4" stock. In lovely condition, as new. For sale at £105 or exchange for a good 'magnet'. (Cambs)
  20. Yes, thats the one and I've got the Test Report for it from Sporting Gun and p/copies of the relevant chapter from 'The Greener Story'. Cheers, Clipper Then it was a bargain as you wont even get a Coey or Cosmos in good nick for that price, or is this one of those odd Pigeon Watch wind-ups we get plaqued with from time to time? Good shooting, Clipper
  21. Hi Pigeon Watch. Just got back on-line after a house move and I'm posting my Greener GP again. Its a Mark 1, 30" barrel, half choke, standard stock etc and in as new condition. I only want £115 for it, so if you want a British gun which will outive all of us, get in touch. Sorry, I dont have a digital camera so cant post pics of it but do a www search and you'll find one. I'm in North Cambs. If no-ones interested, I'll part-X it with a local dealer. Good shooting!! Clipper
  22. The Yeoman is a great gun, I've used one for years and its never let me down. I got it bored out to quarter & half and over decoys it does the business every time. I could afford an all-singing, shiny over & under but why bother when the Yeoman does the business. What stock length is it by the way? Cheers, Axel.

    WANTED

Charlie, your best bet is probably breakers yards; either your local ones, or on the internet. Good Luck mate, Axel (fellow 4-Track'er)
  24. Alzheimers is a terrible thing (joking). I was born in 1945 remember all of it, a real adventure! Axel
  25. Hi, there's a rule of thumb (used by gun-smiths) regarding weight of gun and load size. As a general rule, the gun should weigh x96 times the shell load. I use an AYA SS and it weighs about 6 & 1/2 lbs so a 28gram load is fine (you have to know what the Imperial equivilant is of course). I know some swear by 30 & 32 gram shells but if you use that sort of load your gun has to be heavier to absorb the recoil, its a simple as that really. And, mounting the gun correctly of course, as we all sometimes shoot a bit too soon in a pigeon hide. Good luck, Clipper.
