8 bore loads

Recommended Posts

Welcome aboard ****.

Unfortunately your question is a bit like "How long is a piece of string?"

To answer it one would need to know, at the very least, the chamber length of your gun and what shot material you required since loads will be available in lead, bismuth, ITM, Hevi shot, steel and a number of others.

I hav`nt checked on this forum, but moderators are usually a bit shy of allowing reloading data to be passed on the open forum. Neither they nor you have any way of verifying that the information being given is appropriate. You might blow the gun and yourself up for which the forum could be held liable.

Specialist 8 bore loading info. can be obtained through the likes of Clay and Game Reloaders where you can be assured that the loads have been tested at the Proof House.

I accept all that you say....I have been reloading shot gun and metallic for over 30 years so understand that any info. used is at my risk.

The gun is chambered for 3.5" cartridges and proofed to 1200kg.

I am looking for non toxic loads for duck and geese and lead for the occaisional clay shoot.

I have Clay and Games suggestions and have used them......looking for alternatives and black powder.

The gun is a modern Greylag.

Regards ****.
