Ferretertom
Hi ive been invited to go ratting with my ferrets and im in 2 minds whether to go or not. I know how agressive rats will be to the ferrets when they are in the burrows and all the possable dieseases that rats carry. Has any one tried it before??? chrispti
I wouldn't, the chances of injury and infection are too high, then if you cannot afford the vets bills they will suffer.
Hoskinz
Risky game mate, i know of people who use ferrets for ratting but i believe the odds are stacked against em, apparently most rats will bolt but if your ferret comes across a rat defending her young the ferret will face 1 hell of a fight, i say stick the ferrets to rabbits ther are plenty of other ways to sort the rats out without harming your ferret

Cranfield
I have done it a lot in the past, without any problems. However, I have always been with experienced people, with experienced dogs and netted the rats where possible. Nowadays I would prefer to smoke them out to dogs, or guns.
