leaseone
I have a mono Pod and the thing wobbles what do others use, I cannot get a Vehicle near where I shoot so cannot use that I mean for Standing shots Edited February 16, 2009 by leaseone
Dave-G
I've made a couple of bipods for standing shots but find it seems worse than freehand unless I also brace myself against a tree. So if I need a tree anyway... I'd guess a tripod would provide more stability but it'll take longer to deploy when an opportunity arises - and the quarry will possibly spot you faffing about with it if it waits that long. After finding the bipod didn't work for me I tried experimenting with my freestanding stance. I now shoot better with my supporting hand much further rearwards so there is only about 6" between my hands, and tuck my supporting upper arm against my lower ribs. Cushat
Or a quad-pod?? Way more steady to shoot off that bi/tri pods and just as easy to carry/set up.

Beardo
i've got tripod sticks, they're fine to use - you just need to make sure you set the correct height before you go walkabout, then carry them extended, 'cos it take too long to fiddle about adjusting height once you see you quarry. These ones on Ebay are similar to mine
