I went out to a local permission about 8.30 having walked the dog and got the paper for my missus, walked about 1500 woodys of a 100 acre rape field and then went for a look around the other 1500 acres, I went back about 9.30 and there were about 600 in the same place so i walked them off and set my hide deeks etc in the field got in my hide 10ish and sat back and waited ..........................and waited and waited, but nothing came back, i spotted them all about a mile away on some land i cant shoot and soon realized my chance for today had gone, but it was so nice sitting in the hedge with the sun on my back that i thought i'd stay till lunch time and watch the world go by, next thing it was 1.45, i'd nodded off in the sun shine, and possibly missed out on some shots, i stayed there until about 3 watching 4 roe deer by the wood at the side of the field and then packed up and went home. not a great sporting day but a truly lovely day, there's nothing like the first warm sunny day after a miserable cold wet winter.

It was lovely today, so i packed the dog into the Vitara loaded my bags of dummies, wellingtons etc thought yep get some training done and what happended...the truck was dead....battery measuring 0.1 Volts :hmm:

New Batt fitted £65 engine turns over but not firing, so after checking my connections i have decided to leave it until tomorrow

and i will have to check the HT leads and see if i get a spark at the plugs etc.....i did knock a earth cable off so that might be it so may have to rebolt that to the body work....but what a day

You can easily check how good your earth is.Just attach a single jump lead from the negative battery post to the chassis/engine block etc and try starting. If it starts easily, then i bet the earth strap has either corroded or come loose.

Anyway,not a fruitful day,but sounds blissful. :good:

It was a great day at that, i managed to stay awake long enough in the hide with the sun shining on me to bag 12 birds , I probably missed some shots as i sat back eyes closed enjoying the sunshine, but what the heck its how you enjoy it that matters, had a visit from a buzzard as he jumped on one of the real bird decoys as a bonus, wasnt a big bag day but great to enjoy.

Spring is in the air Mikee. The sap is rising. A few people I know were out by the sea, fishing, and they got caught in the sun. A fair bit of drilling going on locally. :yp:
