Hi all,

I have been a member for some time ( only looking in and not posting - sorry).

I have been offered some pigeon shooting by a local Gamekeeper ( North Shropshire area) at a very reasonable rate and was wondering if any of the memeber on here would be interested, as i know some of you find it hard to get shooting.

I dont want to step on anyones toes ( i know the site is sponsered by Will beasley), so if this is not ok with the site owners, then i understand.

Please PM me for details ETC.

who's getting the money  there seems to be a few people these days that are happy to SELL

shooting, how times have changed, I remember when my farmer was really greatfull that I kept the pests

down on his land and I didn't chage him anything ???

The monet would go to the Keeper, its his job to sell shooting and control the pigeons on the estate and has just offered a few days shooting to others if they want it.

They are selling day tickets in Kent for £25 per gun per day!!!

It think that is very cheap and if you cn get it , i would go for it. £25 a day for shooting is very good, so long as the bird are there.

I would never pay to shoot pigeon. I shoot for a farmer, I spend my money on ammo and equipment and I get to walk the land and shoot for free. In return his fields don't get hammered by pigeon. We both do well out of this deal. I can understand paying for Pheasant as they have to be reared and this can cost quite alot of money but paying to shoot a pest, never.

I fear we will see alot more of this in the future.

Please don't think I am having a dig at you Dickyt as I am not. I am just expressing my opinion which I am sure regular shooters will agree with.

In recent years I have twice paid for pigeon shooting. On both occasions I have been, shall we say seriously dissatisfied, and doubt that I shall succumb again.

There was a most generous offer from ceaser a couple of weeks ago, although it was free the number of PW participants was quite disappointing, but the day was most enjoyable none the less.

shabbyshot, i understand your point but unfortunately not every1 has the same luck and contacts. i have been very lucky lately and have recieved some excellent farms to shoot on for free, but it has not always been like that i have paid £250 a year to shoot pigeons and game.

unfortunately not every1 is that confident to just knock at doors to ask for permission.i guess if you don't ask you don't get!

remember pigeon shooting is very popular now more the ever, so there is only so much land available,i have also found it is quite a clicky communityand feel you have to have some contacts or your not really excepted. anyway just my opinion.

I do see your point Turk101 and I am fortunate. I like to shoot regular and if I had to pay every time I would be skint. I don't think I would want to attend such a day as I like to know who I am shooting with. In a open field it only takes one idiot and you have a accident on your hands.

I guess if you have no option then you have to pay.
