agusta
My 7 year old black lab keeps drinking water, she will drink half a bowl of water then 30 mins or so later she will be bursting for a pee, this will continue throughout the day. Currently letting her out every 30-60 mins, I've taken her to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong just gave her boosters and that was it. This started a week ago for a few days then stopped, now today its started again. Its a bit worrying I may take her back to the vets on Monday, just wondering if anyone might have an idea of what it could be?
libs
Could be renal, or possible thyrioid related. Worth giving your vet a call and having a chat.

ROBLATCH
has your dog been around or could it have picked up any poisons (rat bait etc) as this can cause a lot of water consumption. i know it sounds alarming but it sometimes happens without the knowledge of the owner. Funny you said that, my boiling has just packed in so that isn't the problem Thanks for the links and advice, I've been away for 6 months so not entirely sure whats been going on. I will give the vet a ring on Monday.
webber
doesn't diabetes affect the amount you drink and pee? I know very little about dogs, or their illnesses. However, I am diabetic, and am aware that dogs can become diabetic. As a precaution whilst you wait to see the vet, ensure that your dogs food contains no sugar, dont feed any chocolate or sweets at all. If your dog is over weight, start a diet immediatley. webber
agusta
She isn't the normal podgy lab, in fact the vet said she is one of the best looking Labs he has seen. See
McF
Ask your vet to do a blood test that should reveal whats wrong, if anything is.

Mec 9000
Would be interesting to know how your dog is doing. If you feed dried food they will drink an awful lot of water but best to get it checked out anyway.
