MM
right, here they are. i know the pics are not great, but im no David Bailey. im not sure what these markings are, but they look like small cross or flowers. these are from the longer rifle. and the two longs, side by side. if anybody can id them, or dates, i would love to know. I have check the flint mechs. and there is a small pan, with a 1mm hole in it. Edited March 7, 2009 by martinmoreton
Andy H
How long are the barrels on the rifles as I cannot get any idea of the scale from the photo ie: english flintlock or kentucky long rifle , From flash hole to end of barrel. Zapp
The very long gun is almost certainly a fowling gun of quite early design (17th/18th century). The shorter musket is (80% certain) an "India" pattern Brown Bess (18th-19th century). The pistol I'm not too sure on tbh. Neither long gun is a Kentucky Rifle, of that I am sure. Hope this helps Edited to say I am very - VERY jealous! ZB Edited March 8, 2009 by Zapp Brannigan

Nah, they're worth nothing. Tell you what, I'll give you a fiver to take them off your hands... Only joking. I have no idea what they are worth tbh. I doubt that you are sitting on a fortune, but if I were you I'd get them valued out of sheer curiosity. DONT get the brasso out - please! The most I would do is to wipe over the metal parts with a small amount of gun oil on a cloth to arrest the rusting and leave it at that.
