Llanshooter
Aldi were selling electronic ear defenders for £15.99. Don't know how good they are though.

JT1
I think it really depends on two things, I deal with this type of thing as a job and have found that the most important things are: comfort on wearing and quality of the electronics. I use Peltor Sportacs for the main reason that you get what you pay for. The quality of the electronics and mic are that good that you find yourself wearing them for long periods coupled with the fact they are very comfortable expecially with the stick on cotton liners for the gel ring, this cuts out sweating. I can sit still in a wood and hear all manner of beasties rustling about especially pidgies coming into roost before I see them. Like I said, you get what you pay for.
