Richardinhoxne
I used an old wire wound resistor on mine -still works fine. Dont think theres a need for anything sophisticated here just to slow the gadget down - a bulb in series also works but isnt variable of course. mark12345
Get an old power golf trolly from Ebay, convert the motor (has a speed controler on the handle) and the battery will only connect one way, No more problems...... Cosd
Cheap and easy, fool proof way: Why not use bullit connectors for one side (battery) and spade connectors for the other (magnet). Use male and female at each end and you couldn't connect it wrongly even if you tried (round peg square hole scenario). Will cost you pennies
daz2202
I have blown 2 controllers, I now use a heater / fan switch from an old renault 11. It has 3 speeds slow, medium and blimmin quick. works a treat !

Beardo
i've definitely never wired my magtame round the wrong way, but it still blew. It seems to be very common that people break them - so surely the manufacturers should re-look at the designs.
