5 shed's with 8500 chickens in each shed AND 2 fields away there is another chicken farm which i havent got round to calling in yet but i think i will this summer.

They really are a draw for foxes and i have the bonus of free eggs for knocking the foxes on the head <_<

Keep the run going there John  nice shooting in the weather conditions :hmm:

Caught up with 1 fox lying amongst lambing ewes last night, unbothered by the lamp but always with a sheep behind it so no safe shot.It eventually made its way out of the field and still no safe shot was available.

I cannot make tonight but couple of mates are going. There,s some silage bales at the edge of this field that will be perfect for an ambush. So hopefully said fox will return tonight on the same route it left.

That is pure class john really wise stuff getting the reconnaissance done during the daytime it gives you a good idea of the range your going to be firing at once it gets dark :good: And great shooting to allow for the bullet drift the 55gr v-max are deadly in the wind the drift is easy enough to predict.

The weather here has been very bad these last few nights so i couldnt get out myself but tonight looks a bit better its very dark with a slight bit of drizzle so i might chance it

I instructed the lad that is running the trap at the mo to take a heap of pics of that trap for you and i should have them in the next 2 days i will pm/email them to ya...i might make one for myself too because hes trapping a steady stream of greys since paddy's day

You are a night owl john.I think i have a vixen at the chicken farm but it is visiting during the day and taking a lot of chances,no sign of it on the lamp.I put a high seat up there in october and have not sat in it yet so maybe now is the time  Well done on the foxes recently mate :good:

I put the seat up,and it is a stand alone jobby but i put it next to a shed and covered the seat area with a camo blind. To be honest it stuck out like a sore thumb but now that it has been there a while and it is next to a food silo for the chickens it just blends in.I have lamped foxes that have ran past it so they are used to it and like i say no one has sat in it yet so as far as they are concerned it represents no danger.

Good man Mark, I'd appreciate that a lot @ photos. I've not done much about greycrows here at all this year and they're starting to bug me now sitting in every tree and phone/'leccy line. I love the idea of trapping them, especially since I got the Larsen up and running last September, 50 magpies so far in the one spot :( A steady stream of greycrows sounds excellent :D Time for a bit of payback with those ugly *******.

We went out last night, but only lasted an hour because the heavy rain didn't ease off. Phoned the farmer and no losses since we shot those two so am hoping now we were wrong about a vixen being about. Taking the night off tonight, my hip is giving me trouble, Jesus, I'll need it replaced by 35 at this rate, not good

Good luck tonight

The paparazzi will be down taking pic's of the grey crow this evening i told him to take close up pic of the trigger mechanism and i can supply you with dimensions ect :hmm:

I was out last night myself it was chucking it down all through the 1st part of the night we were just back at the house and it stopped and the moon shone through gaps in the cloud so we gave it a second try I'm glad we did i shot one dog at 198yards straight through the shoulder he was the furthest in a good while and had a stand off with another dog fox that came screaming into the call but decided to lie down in a rushes filled field and fell asleep :good: It took a good 35mins of calling and whistling to wake the ****** up when he did a american eagle to the neck quickly put him into a permanent snooze

Well done John,a few more lamb thiefs taken care of :good:

BJ and the farmer got another fox from that new farm over the weekend whilst i was away...think i,m surplus to requirements now :P:P just letting them get the easy ones before i,m recalled to do some cheating :good:

Farmer,s very happy so all is well and no other lambing fields are being troubled at the moment.

How many is this you,ve taken out this past 2 months then??
