ph5172
Im looking for a Spring washer but i need an M24? (25mm internal diameter) with ideally a total diameter of 35mm (and the minimum thickness possible) and not one of the split washers for a quick modification to a semi auto. I have tried all the hardware shops but they dont stock anything that big, (and net companies have a minimum order policy) so ideally im looking for an engineer for help!! HW682
Hi mate, hopefully you will get sorted soon, but if not I will check our stores on Monday (but to be honest we don't have much in above M20). If you find a stockist you can usually blag small quantities as a "sample" for the project you are working on. Probably helps if you/your employer already have an account with them though. ph5172
I am going to try the local engineering firms in the week they must have one i can buy!!! Edited April 3, 2009 by ph5172
webber
It sounds to me like what you really want is a shim. You can buy shim steel and shim brass at decent engineers merchants in various thicknesses and also assorted packs. Sorry, I've no idea as to cost. Simply sharpen a pail of engineers dividers, set the desired radius, ans scribe out the shim that you require. webber
ph5172
Thanks Webber Basically its to put between the forend and cap that screws on the magazine as my forend cap comes loose (only 1/5 turn) due to the vibration which in turn makes the forend move (not by a lot but just a little bit) but its bloody annoying infact thinking about it a normal washer / spacer would do it im sure. bruno22rf
try using a normal washer but get hold of an engineers centre punch and punch little dents into it-you could also try using linseed oil on the thread as it acts like a shock absorber.
