Gemini
Check to see how far the striker protrudes through the breech face, and if it is too much then simply take it out and reduce its length. If it is not too long then it may be too pointed, in which case all it will need doing to it is re-profiling. GM
Paladin
Hi berettaman, Have you used the cartridges in another gun, sometimes the primers can varey in thickness, thin ones will pierce/blow through and hot gasses will cause pitting on the striker or if they are thick will just dent and missfire. The age of the gun may mean that at sometime in its life it may have had an odd replacement spring fitted. Does it only happen on one barrel? Or like Gemini says wrong length striker, these too, may have been replaced by someone at sometime in its life, and need taking out and grinding to length. If you like it and it shoots well, get it sorted. Good luck with it Paladin
bruno22rf
put some masking tape over the breach face-pull the trigger back and push down on the hammer-stone a little off the face of the firing pin as it protrudes in the breach area and try it again for a few days-shouldnt take long to cure it. Vince Green
It doesn't matter anyway. Pierced primers aren't a safety issue in a shotgun. The pressures are too low to cause any concern.
