claybreaker
I have an xs78 air rifle. I put the rifle in the work bench, and fire at the bulls eye of the target, then I move the cross hairs to the hole. Then i aim at the bulls eye agian and its completly out!!! this happens every time and it very annoying!!! Is this me not doing it properly or is it a broken gun? Has it happened to you? MM
first of all, dont panic and think the gun is at fault. Have a good look at the mounts to see if they are sliping after each shot. Is the scope of average quality? there might be something loose inside. If you have one, swap scopes to see if this still occurs.
Ozzy Fudd
sounds like the scope is broken to me if it wont hold zero
ODG
Sorry to ask a stupid question, but when you say you 'move the cross hairs to the bullet hole', are you moving the gun, or adjusting the sights on the scope? When I'm zeroing I'll typically fire a group of 3-5 shots, aiming the cross hairs at the bull, then adjust the sights so that the centre of the group would be moved to the bull - on my scope, if I'm firing an inch to the right, I'll need to rotate the scope adjustment maybe 20 clicks. Then I'll fire another group of 3 to see how that's affected it.

ODG
OK, it sounds like either your scope is loose or faulty. Check the mounts and make sure it's all tight. If possible, swap the scope for another - borrow one if necessary. It's more likely to be the scope or mounts than the gun.
