new to the flock
I use them for a number of different things. It is easiest to start making sounds by placing the call the correct way in your mouth then push it against the roof of your mouth with the center of your tounge, and blow a steady flow of air over it. Once you start to make a noise try to keep it constant. After you can make a sound and continue it just start moving the air at differant volumes and you will change the pitch......By the way if you constantly practice this in the house someone will try to kill you eventually. Dave66
I have a Primos 171, the best I can do sounds like the sooty and sweep show. For some reason it seems to make a gallon of saliva in my mouth every time I use it, I bought a good one in Spain last year ( From a supermarket ) " La boutique del cazado" numero 46067, but lost this in the field somewhere, it was similar to the type shown in BASC magazine a couple of months ago. BIGJON
It helps if you bend the call slightly to fit the roof of your mouth better. Once you are over the urge to throw up you will find you can make an amazing amount of different calls using it....
