Spaniel
Been messing with this for a few days now. Had a piece of ash, so decided to draw a duck head on it and then cut it out with the jigsaw. Took a bit of time sanding it down etc as i done it all by hand and a few sheets of sandpaper. Used my old beating/Wildfowling stick which had most of the bark hit off it and gave it a light sand down. Today i drilled a hole in the stick and the handle and using a 4" bolt which i cut the head off of, i Aradited the bolt into the two pieces of wood. Seem to be holding solid at pesent.... Gave the handle a light sand down to blend it in with the stick and then with some Stock oil i had, i rubbed a few coates into the stick and handle... digdeep
Nice piece of Ash, looks like American white ash to me? I love the smell of ash when cutting it, it's my favourite timber after pitch pine.
